Networking

Our concept: IT.Connect 365

Our networking concept IT.Connect365 is constantly creating new synergy effects for the faculty and its partners from industry and science. Students, researchers and industry representatives are brought together through a variety of measures and events and can thus mutually benefit from each other.

With our IT.Connect 365 concept, we also connect you. You can benefit from all the contacts we maintain: We have our own job board for jobs in the IT sector, arrange internships, organize our own contact fairs ITS.Connect and IT.Connect, regularly invite company representatives to give presentations and exchange ideas and organize various workshops.

But we will also open the door to the world of science for you: With us, you will have the opportunity to learn through research at a very early stage of your studies, to discuss scientific contributions or to work on research projects as a paid student assistant. You will come into contact with scientific institutions in Germany and abroad, and we will enable you to take part in national and international workshops and conferences. If your goal is a doctorate, we will show you the right path very early on!

The professional and spatial proximity to other faculties, universities and renowned institutes, such as the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy, enables close networking and interdisciplinary research, for example at the CASA Cluster of Excellence or the Institut für Neuroinformatik. Students are introduced to science at an early stage in order to secure the next generation of scientists. Young researchers receive comprehensive support and benefit from the faculty’s broad network.

The researchers also maintain close contacts with industry. Through joint research projects and numerous spin-offs, cutting-edge findings from research find their way into industry. The faculty supports those interested in founding a company with its in-house start-up incubator Cube 5. The resulting knowledge and technology transfer is visible and recognized worldwide.

The IT.Connect 365 concept connects the industry with young professionals. With almost 2000 IT students, Ruhr-Universität Bochum is a leader in the training of the highly sought-after next generation of computer scientists. Our two job fairs ITS.Connect and IT.Connect, the year-round job board and other cooperation opportunities enable companies to strategically position themselves.

These include, for example, joint research projects or the Deutschlandstipendium (scholarship). Are you interested in networking your company with our faculty? Then do not hesitate to get in touch with us (your contact: Charlotte Schab, charlotte.schab@rub.de, 0234 32-19251).

Stay in touch! We are proud of our alumni and would like to stay in contact with them, for example through the BITSI club and various events.
